METHOD
1 - COPY AND PASTE
A
fail safe and simple method of sending information by
e-mail is to use the copy and paste method. To copy data
from a word document and embed it in e-mail, select the
text you want to copy. Either press CTRL-C, put your
cursor in the e-mail window, and press CTRL-V to paste or
Click Edit on the Menu bar and select Copy; position your
cursor where you want the text; and click Edit,
Paste.
This
works well unless the text length is
prohibitive.
METHOD
2 - USE RICH TEXT FORMAT
For
word processing documents, using .RFT (Rich Text Format)
is usually a safe bet. PC versions of all current word
processing applications as well as some Mac applications
can easily translate RFT documents. What's more, the .RFT
format also retains all basic formatting and tables.
To
make a Word document an .RFT document, open it in Word,
Click File, Save As. At the bottom of the screen, you
will see a Save As Type box. This gives you the option of
saving the file in many different formats, including
.RFT.
SENDING
PICTURES
If
you are sending a photo or graphics file, choose at
format appropriate to the file. Files containing
photographs are frequently saved as .JPG (Joint
Photograph Experts Group) or . GIF (Graphic Interchange
Format) files. We have Photoshop and can open these file
formats.
