The
Duck Key Property Owners' Association was incorporated in
1971 and today has a membership of over 200
families.
A
goal of the Duck Key Property Owners' Association is to
empowers its members and the residents of the community.
The Association can be vocal and forceful and has a long
history of mobilizing through community action in
successfully standing up against special interests and
negotiating areas of conflict. With the help of committed
neighbors, the Association has been able to fight for
community values.
Residents
use the letters DKPOA to stand for Duck Key Property
Owner 's Association. DKPOA is referred to as "duck po"
with a long "o".

Social
Calendar
In
addition to speaking for the Duck Key community on civic
matters, the Association has an extensive social calendar
of events for its members. Information on annual social
events of the Association may be found by clicking on the
Duck Key Community calendar link provided in the index to
the left.
Mailing
Tubes
Residents
and visitors to the island can't help notice the white
plastic tubes attached to mailbox stanchions. These tubes
are DKPOA's means of delivering timely information and
social reminder notices. Please let DKPOA know if you'd
like a tube or require assistance in attaching the DKPOA
tube to your mail post. The Post Office cautions not to
place notices inside the mailbox or attach notices to the
mailbox flag.
Directory
- The Association periodically puts out a helpful
telephone directory listing the names and addresses of
its membership. This is a handy reference for the
residential population of the Duck Key
community.
