In 1989 when George Bush senior was elected President, Hawk's Cay Resort and Marina inaugurated the Bush-Whacker cocktail, promoting the drink as "something to tide you over through the next four years."
The resort also reported it was developing a ''Cabinet" of drinks, including the Frozen Quayle, a Sweet and Sour Sununu and the Dole Pineapple Surprise.
The "kinder, gentler" Bush-Whacker cocktail combined rum, Midori, and banana liqueur, topped with pineapple juice and served over ice with a float of blue Curacao.
Now in 2009 the new management of the resort is advertizing new weekly specials at the Tom's Harbor Bar
