With
sadness we write that Donna Janota of Duck Key
passed away on August 26, 2004.
Donna L. Janota,
nee Guschke, is survived by her husband, Roy; and
children Neil, Kenneth (Colleen), James (Marsha)
and Richard, and sisters Carol (Dale) Blue and
Joyce (Robert) Whalen. Donna was grandmother to 10
grandchildren.
Church services
were held in Darien, Illinois. Plans call for
Donna's ashes to be scattered on the ocean once Roy
returns to the Keys.
Donna was very
active in the Marathon Garden Club and served in
many capacities including Club President. Donna was
a master at her floral designs, whether in the
Oriental manner or Traditional Designs. She also
was creative in the Garden Club Christmas Tree
exhibit. She decorated a tree and assisted other
tree decorators who needed her expert advice.
In lieu of flowers
the family requested that donations be made to
Marathon Garden Club, Marathon, Florida.
Donna helped with
the centerpieces for the Dinner dance for the Duck
Key Property Owners' Association for many years.
The kindness of
Donna was especially noted on holidays such as
Thanksgiving. Donna felt that new residents to Duck
Key should not celebrate Thanksgiving alone. She
and husband, Roy would graciously invited newcomers
to celebrate Thanksgiving dinner in their
home.
We also remember
fondly dancing lessons Donna and Roy organized at
their home for interested couples. She and Roy were
a great dancing couple and hosted dancing classes
at their home and arranged for dancing
instructors.
