MINUTES
OF MEETING - JUNE 16, 1997
The
meeting was called to order a 9:00 AM by Chairman
Bucholtz. Other member present were Ray Przybyl, Robert
Adams, Albert Appell, Dennis Kulig, Pino Moro, Dick
Holland and Richard Adler. A resident in attendance was
Loraine Casella.
SECRETARY'S
REPORT
Minutes
from the March 17, 1997 meeting were read. A motion to
approved the minutes carried.
CHAIRMAN'S
REPORT
Fred
Bucholtz reported everything is set for hurricane season.
Phone, guards and room at Hawk's Cay will have a review
with guards within the next week.
Sonny
Appell will take over the satellite phone - otherwise the
guard supervisor will take the phone to Hawk's
Cay.
Reported
on several incidents involving security on
island.
Met
with Mayor Douglas and discussed problem with jetskis and
welcome booth and problems with fishing off island entry
bridge.
OLD
BUSINESS
No
old business.
NEW
BUSINESS
A
motion made by Sonny Appell and seconded by Dick Adler to
recommend BOCC approval on the renewal of Sheriff Condo
lease carried.
The
Advisory Board passed a resolution requesting Commission
action and approval of a monthly expenditure of $400 for
renewal of the twelve month condo lease as contracted
with Wayne Rice. Hawk's Cay and the Security District
through Monroe County each pay $400 monthly toward rent
for Sheriff personnel in exchange for their stipulated
presence on Duck Key.
