THANK YOU TO ALL
Since
the first Club organizational meeting on January of 1998,
the membership of Club Duck Key has accomplished a great
deal. Without member support at Monroe County Government
meetings and the tireless work efforts of the membership,
Club Duck Key would not now be a reality .
On
April 20, forty-three members travelled to Key West to
lend support at the Monroe County Commissioners meeting.
The Commission voted unanimously in favor of the Club
Duck Key resolution and praised the Community for its
initiative.
The
Duck Key community at large also deserves a thank you in
that they were supportive of our efforts to lift the deed
restrictions.
MEMBERSHIP
We
have doubled our initial 1998 membership and now approach
the 100 mark for families who have joined Club Duck Key.
When completed our new Community Club Center should
enrich our residential island and provide the membership
with tennis, swimming and social activities.
BUILDING
PERMIT
We
are currently working toward providing the many submittal
requirements necessary for getting a building permit.
This is a weighty task, but unless something unforeseen
happens we should be able to start building by July 1 and
complete the Club facilities by November 1.

DUCK KEY COMMITTEES
1.
RULES COMMITTEE Chairperson - Bob Adams

RESPONSIBILITIES:
To draw up all the rules and regulations for the
use of the entire facility. to consult with the
pool committee, house committee and tennis
committee for their recommendations.
2.
BUILDING COMMITTEE Chairperson - Gary Curtis
Members:
Gene Rohrscheib, Tom Neville, Ed Gottschalk
RESPONSIBILITIES;
Total construction of entire facility.
3.
FINANCE COMMITTEE Chairperson - David Lyon
Members:
Oscar Norris, Colin Parker, Ted Theodore, June
Helbling
RESPONSIBILITIES:
All fund raising for entire facility

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE Chairperson - Adam Mink
Members:
Jerry Lacko, Pat Johnston
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Approving all membership applications.To notify all
new members of their acceptance and furnish them
with a copy of the By- Laws & Regulations. To
distribute membership packets when instructed by
the Board and when any new persons move to one of
the residential islands.
5.
LEGAL COMMITTEE Chairperson - John Wolfe
Members:
Jim Bobeck
RESPONSIBILITIES:
To answer any legal questions that may arise and
handle all legal matters for the Club.
6.
INSURANCE COMMITTEE Chairperson - Tom Neville
Members:
Tom Davis, Bill Braun
RESPONSIBILITIES:
To make sure that all of the following insurance
policies are maintained: the liability insurance
for the Board, liability insurance for the
facility, windstorm, flood and fire insurance and
any other insurance that will be needed by the
facility. To review and keep coverage active on an
annual basis.

GROUNDS COMMITTEE Chairperson - Dick Comerford

RESPONSIBILITIES:
To be responsible for all of the hard out door
facilities, such as , septic tank, power lines,
fence, gravel, outside lighting, etc.

LANDSCAPING COMMITTEE Chairperson - Vickie

RESPONSIBILITIES:
All landscaping

HOUSE COMMITTEE Chairperson - Tillie Theodore

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The club house facility maintenance, clean-up,
renting, etc.

TENNIS COMMITTEE Chairperson - Dick Adler

RESPONSIBILITIES:
All functions and maintenance of the tennis
courts.

POOL COMMITTEE Chairperson - Pat Curtis

RESPONSIBILITIES
All functions of and maintenance of the pool.

SOCIAL COMMITTEE Chairpersons - Joan Norris and Mickey

RESPONSIBILITIES:
All social functions to be held at the meeting
hall.
13.
EXTERIOR/ INTERIOR COLOR COORDINATION:
Chairperson
- Vicki Bucholtz

RESPONSIBILITIES:
All color choices including but not limited to the
fence, pool, exterior and interior of the meeting
hall such as tile for the bathrooms, cabinets, all
fixtures, appliances, fans, lighting, etc.
