Message
Dear
Club Member:
Our
next general membership meeting will be held on
Wednesday, November 29, 2000 at 5:30 P.M. The meeting
will be at Emil and Anna Lockwood's home, which is 159
Bahama Drive South.
The
Board of Directors held its meeting on November 2, 2000.
There were several motions adopted by the Board and
several items that were recommended to be voted upon at
the general membership meeting. Please read the attached
minutes of this meeting carefully and if you have any
questions, call 305-289-3550.
We
had a difficult time obtaining the building permit for
our recreation center. There were several changes made to
the plans by Monroe County and it cost the Club
additional money as a result of these changes. Also, we
made several changes to improve the facility that added
more cost. We are still negotiating with the County on
several items.
Construction
is moving along at a rapid pace and if everything goes as
planned we should have the tennis courts completed in
about 6 weeks. The balance of the facility should be
completed by the middle of February.
At
present we have 105 member. To the new members, we would
like to say "thank you" for joining the Club. If you are
interested in signing up for one of our committees,
please let us know. We will have a list of all committees
at the November 29th meeting, so come prepared.
We
have had several items donated to the Club that were on
our "wish List" as well as cash donations. We want to
have the best recreational facility in the Keys and if
you would like to donate to our "Wish List", please let
us know.
Sincerely,
Oscar
L. Norris, President
Club
Duck Key, Inc.
